Data Destruction services

It is a requirement of the Data Protection Act 1998 that your data is securely destroyed!

Do you require Data Destruction Services? if your data falls under the Data Protection Act then the answer is almost certainly "Yes". Your method of data destruction must recognised, approved, recorded and certificated.

  • Data destruction should be performed using an approved method of data destruction.
  • Data destruction should be performed using approved data destruction software or devices.
  • Evidence of data destruction and certification should be recorded for traceability.

"Data must be securely deleted before the electronic devices on which it is stored are destroyed or recycled" - Alastair Barter, Senior Policy Officer at the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), source ADISA issue 1 April 2012. The Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) enforce the Data Protection Act 1998 and as such have the authority to impose fines of up to £500,000 for serious instances of data loss.
